Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation (PLC)

Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation (PLC) is a Government Owned Enterprise mandated to conserve and protect gazetted forests and other fragile ecosystems in Kenya by creating agro-ecological buffer zones of tea, assorted tree species and other suitable commercial crops for sustainability.

The Corporation also provides livelihood support to peri-forest rural communities while generating revenue for the Government of Kenya from the buffer zone value chains through agronomy, tea processing, branding and the sale of tea and other conservation products.

Enhance forest conservation, produce quality Kenyan tea, create jobs, support rural livelihoods, and earn revenue for the government.

  • Manage tea, fuelwood plantations, and indigenous trees.
  • Run nurseries for propagation of tea and tree seedlings.
  • Maintain tea processing factories.
  • Construct and maintain rural access roads, offices, and collection centres.
  • Market tea, wood, and other products nationally and internationally.
