Turning green leaf into graded, packed tea — keeping value where it is grown.
Our factories add value at the source — receiving fresh green leaf and transforming it into graded, packed, and specialty teas that command stronger prices in the market. By processing locally, more of the income stays with the farmers and communities who grow the crop.
Value addition is central to sustainability: it strengthens livelihoods, funds conservation, and builds a resilient rural economy around quality Kenyan tea.

The Corporation in 2014 embarked on a strategy to realize its full commercial potential by venturing into value addition — including tea processing, blending, packaging and branding of its products for sale locally and overseas.
The Corporation's flagship tea products — Eco, Chabo and other tea brands — are already on sale in local markets across the country.
The Value Addition Unit is located at Kipchabo Tea Factory in Nandi County, while a second blending and packaging unit for premium orthodox teas will be established at Gatitu Tea Factory in Kirinyaga County.
